Aesthetic Perfection - The Great Depression (Official Video)
Thanks daniel that you have found time to give answers to these questions,
1- For the first question will be - do you know the netherland?
I have been to the Netherlands many many times. Both as a tourist and as a musician. I really love the country, the people are friendly, its a very relaxed attitude and its also visually appealing.
2- Do you follow the electronic music scene, do you have any other favourite bands?
I do listen to scene music. Not as much as I used to, but of course I still keep up to date with what is going on. I like most of the Pro Noize stuff simply because it's fun, upbeat music. Off the top of my head I would say I listen to SAM the most.
3- Greetings daniel could you please shortly introduce our readers your music project Aesthetic Perfection Please fill also a biographical resume about how, when and where...Aesthetic Perfection is an American electronic-industrial musical project created by Daniel Graves in 2000. ..... give us a more background information?
Aesthetic Perfection is my only form of expression, so that's what it is. An attempt to convey raw emotion through music. That's it. It's my project, it's my life.
4- How did you start to make aggrotech,Electro Industrial, EBM and what is aggrotech,Electro Industrial, EBM for you?
I grew up listening to Wumpscut and Leaether Strip and became completely infatuated with music that could be completely electronic, and still be heavy. I hated metal during my teens but loved heavy music. It was perfect for me.
5- What and who are some of your influences in aggrotech,Electro Industrial, EBM?
Like I said, as a teen I listened to Wumpscut and Leaether Strip. That was in my mind the most perfect music imagineable. As I grew my tastes developed and I began appreciating other forms of electronic music like Gridlock and Speedy J. I wanted to find some balance between the beauty and the noise
6- What are your top ten favorite aggrotech,Electro Industrial, EBM Club Songs of all time? Who are you influenced by? What would you consider your favorite cd's?
My favorites change all the time, but these would be my current top 10, in no particular order:
Skinny Puppy - The Choke
Wumpscut - Dying Culture
Leaether Strip - Nosecandy
Gridlock - From Zero,
Wolfsheim - Kuenstliche Welten,
VNV Nation - Chrome,
Icon of Coil - Shelter,
Covenant - Tension
Imperative Reaction - Torn Down
7- Do you have a favourite track and album?
No.
8- So tell me a bit more about yourself, such as musical? and about this album "Violent Emotion"
Emotions make monsters of men. Logic is lost in the face of raw emotion. We are all controlled by them. They are violent and dangerous things.
9- By the way do you like my questions? tell me what you think about it! ;-)
You should ask more creative questions. ;)
10- What is the main idea, the message you want to leave to people who listens to you? What is your motto?
I have no motto, no message. Music is not a vehicle to perpetuate any agenda. For me, music unites us all. Black, white, green, muslim, christian, atheist. We all feel, we all suffer the same.,
11- What’s the name of your band? What’s the origin of that name? Have you changed the band’s name before?
Aesthetic Perfection is what cannot be. No one is perfect. Everyone is flawed.
12- "Close to Human" where did the concept come from? and whats planned now that your album is finished? or anything else you're working on? Tell me why this title,'Close to Human" Tell us a few words about the concept of this?
Close to Human was a reflection of who I was at the time, I was a self medicating mess. I barely recognized the face in the mirror.
13- When's the new album coming out? Tell me about this labels Bractune (USA) Out of Line (EU) Gravitator (RU)
New album? Someday. Labels? Who knows?
14-How is the current promotional tour going for supporting this album?
Winding down. Soon I will have a chance to write new material. The last year or so has been wild!
15- What do you think of a modern aggrotech,Electro Industrial, EBM and about aggrotech,Electro Industrial, EBM scene?
It needs more emotion, and more experimentation.
16- Our usual question - what is aggrotech,Electro Industrial, EBM for you?
A style of music.
17- What was your best live experience so far?
Wave Gotik Treffen 2009, Das Bunker on Black Friday in 2009.
18- Please list the name, age, school, and respective instrument of each band member

19-What are your views on the current state of this aggrotech,Electro Industrial, EBM scene in Salzburg,Austria .in terms of creativity and audiences? And the scene in other countries?
There is a club in Salzburg that runs once a month. Overdose is a great event, but I spend my time at home focusing on writing music, not partying.
20- you have very nice numbers`The Great Depression,Living the Wasted life,Schadenfreude tell me about lyrical compositions what you can tell about the done work? How does your music creation process work? How do you create a song?
Lyrics are all reflections of how I see my life and my experiences in it. Some of it very literal, other elements are more metaphorical. But it is all me. Songs are written differently everytime. There is no process.
21-What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?
I consider my work to be emotional, pop inspired, dark electronic alternative music.
22-Since the music industry is more open now to purely electronic music has this made things easier for you?
Maybe. I don't know. Fads come and go. I just want to make art, and push my own boundaries.
23-So what are their main influences as a band at the moment?
The Beatles
24-What is currently inspiring your material as an artist? tell me all about the aggrotech,Electro Industrial, EBM scene of Salzburg,Austria?
I am like always, inspired by life and art.
25-Do you think that people from the music press didn't expect you to grow up musically?
I don't care. I can't care what people think. This music is mine, and even if no one else expects anything of it, I do. I will always strive to make the music I want to hear. Nothing more, nothing less.
26-what is the key to making music from Aesthetic Perfection and what inspires you to keep growing as a musician?
Boredom. I get bored when I do the same thing. No artist I've ever respected has repeated themselves over and over.
27-How do you see the future of download / Copyright in area of goth-aggrotech,Electro Industr ial, EBM music ? What are the best ways to develop it in your mind ?
I don't care. Downloading is here to stay. I am interested in actively working towards a way to earn money in this revolution, but I don't fight losing battles.
28-If there was one thing you want people to know about your band what would that be?
I like cats, romantic comedies, and pepsi cola.
29-Please let us know about your upcoming plans, some new releases you like to confirm here and telle me about (Remix by Aesthetic Perfection)

What should I say about remixes? They are sometimes fun, they are sometimes annoying. I like working on pop remixes because it allows me to understand a different kind of music, a different kind of songwriting, it's fun. Remixes that are not fun are ones when someone says "please make our shitty songs a club hit."

To those who love us. Thanks to everyone who has supported this project since the beginning.
